Congratulations to Junior Keyboard Soloist

Congratulations to Tejit ‘Song’ Boriboonpoka, G3/4 who was the winner at Yamaha Thailand Music Festival 2020. Song was awarded Princess Bajarakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati’s Cup for Junior Keyboard Solo competition in the children category under 7. The event was held on 13 December 2020 by Yamaha Music Academy.


BBS Student wins 1st Prize at the Young Euregio Piano Award Online Edition Final Round 2021 of Category A
21 September 2021

Congratulations to Tejit “Song” Boriboonpoka (G3/4) who received the 1st prize from The Young Euregio Piano Award Online Edition Final Round 2021 of Category A (up to 8 years old), Monschau Germany. Song was awarded the following:

- 100 Euros
- Online concert offered by music festival Eiffel Musicale, Germany
- Concerts arrangements by Koltun Music Agency during the season 2021/2022

This competition was open to young talented pianists worldwide. There were 2 online rounds. The qualifiers of the 1st round must play a new piece. The final competition result was announced on the 1st of September 2021.

BBS G5 student tops English test in the “Brain Challenge” Matthayom 1 Pre-Test of Horwang School
18 June 2021

Congratulations to Thanapan ‘August’ Voradejviseskrai, G6/3 student who received the top score in English in the “Brain Challenge” Test of Horwang School, a Pre-Test for Mattayom 1 Admission for the School Year 2021. August's English score is 39/40. August was studying in G5 when he sat at this examination on March 17, 2021.


BBS Students pass the 33th Sermpanya Mathematics Contests of the Academic Year 2020 with high scores
3 April 2021

Congratulations to the following students who passed the 33th Sermpanya Mathematics Contests with high scores. The event was held on the 6th March 2021.

Nareerat Phokinjongwiwat (Kaimook) and Napat Cherdtrakulchai (Lyn), Grade 1/3, 4th ranking for regional level and 15th ranking for national level among 2,748 students. They received 53/55 scores.

Wanrawee Seekum (Anna), Grade 2/3, 1st ranking for both regional and national levels from 5,050 students nationwide. Anna received top score 55/55.

BBS student wins a medal in the 40th GSB Gymnastics Competition 2020
17 December 2020

Congratulations to Tanutkarn "Nu Nutt" Sae-Kam (G5/1) who participated in the 40th GSB Gymnastics competition 2020 for the HRH Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Royal Cup. The event was held by the Gymnastics Association of Thailand at the Thailand National Sports University, Sukothai Campus, between the 19th and 22nd of November, 2020. There were approximately 750 contestants. Top athletes will represent the Thai national team in the 2021 Asian Gymnastics Championship and the 31st SEA Games in 2021. Nu Nutt represented Bangkok Metropolitan Authority's Young Ambassadors team for the 'Discover Thainess' tourism campaign and 2020 BMA's Cultural Ambassador. She participate in 3 competitions, namely Group Gym Dance, Group Ball and Group Free Hand. She earned a silver medal for her performance in the Group Gym Dance event, in the U12 category.


Grade 7 - BBS Day Camp 2020 Activity
14 December 2020

The Grade 7 - BBS Day Camp 2020 Activity was held in the school grounds on Monday, 30th November 2020. The objectives were to instill the values of teamwork and to enhance a healthy relationship among students. The programme integrated several educational and recreational activities to develop team work, communication and coping skills.

On this occasion, the school invited four guest speakers to share their educational journeys and personal working experiences with our students. Ms. Siree Boonag was a former Ambassador of Thailand in Brasilia, Brazil and former director of the Policy and Planning Office, Office of the Narcotics Control Board of Thailand. Ms. Siree talked about the dangers of drug abuse, and the pathway to her diplomatic career. Ms. Siree is an awardee of Thailand King's Scholarship to study Sociology and Anthropology at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, USA. In addition, she also received a government scholarship to study for a master's degree, in Rural Sociology, at North Carolina State University, U.S.A.

Ms. Hathairat Phewpun (Prim) a member of the first alumni group of BBS, shared her study and wide range of job experiences with students. Prim was awarded a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Stamford International University, and a master's degree in International Business from Hult International Business School, San Francisco, U.S.A. Furthermore, she received a further master's degree in International Marketing from Hult International Business School, Boston, U.S.A Prim managed and presented a travel TV show on channel 5 and is now the Executive Secretary to the Chief Executive Officer of Security GGI Group Limited, whilst also working at the Online Department of Internal Pet Food Co., Ltd., a company in the Charoen Pokphand Group. Prim also manages a Caf� Amazon at Rittiyawanalai School branch.

Mr. Tanapol Phewpun (Peach) was one of the third alumni group. He shared his passion about science and scientific experiments in the laboratory. Peach received a bachelor's degree (honours) in Biomedical Science from the University of Surrey, UK, and a master's degree of Science in Molecular Biotechnology, at Northeastern University U.S.A. His study for a doctorate degree continues at the School of Medicine, St. George University, Grenada, West Indies.

Mr. Pichaya Pichaironarongsongkram (Ya) who was a member of the eighth alumni group, shared about his study and social services activity. He is undertaking his second year at the Faculty of Medicine, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (international programme), and Ya aims to become a lecturer in medicine. As a volunteer, he spent time with bed-bound patients at Chulalongkorn Hospital in 2018. He is working with the Chalermkwan Jumsai Na Ayudhaya Foundation. This foundation together with the Juamsai Na Ayudhaya family (his grandfather, Dr. Art Ong Jumsai Na Ayudhaya) extend an outreach to poor people in the Sangkom District, Nongkai Province. Ya is also a sportsman, and represented his college in the badminton and basketball competitions at the '31st Syringe Games' held in Chiangmai in 2019.

Students thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from the event. They learnt about forgiveness and acceptance, and eagerly participated in the activity and thereby gained valuable knowledge from the guest speakers.

BBS Students receive awards from Online International Math Challenge (IMC 2020)

Congratulations to students who won medals from the recent Online International Math Challenge (IMC 2020) organised by Pan-Asia International School and Rangsit University during 8-9 October 2020. IMC is a competition which hosts many brilliant international students from all around the globe. This year the competition was online and participated by more than 1,600 students from around 70 countries. All 4 representatives from BBS won medals, 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal.

BBS Student passes 2020 Sermpanya Social Studies and Thai Language Contests with high scores

Congratulations to Jirawit 'Jew' Chantharak, Grade 7 who passed Sermpanya Social Studies and Thai Language Contests held on 3rd October 2020 with high scores.

Social Studies, 24th contest: 1st ranking for regional level and 9th for national level among 1,100 students.

Thai Language, 25th contest: 3rd for regional level and 127th for national level among 3,600 students.


BBS swimmer receives 4 medals from swimming competitions
6 November 2020

Congratulations to Immita "Immy" Sachadev (G4/3) who won 4 medals from the Junior Family Swimming Competition held at Polo Club on 29th August 2020.

Immy received 2 gold medals for individual freestyle and breaststroke. She also earned 1 gold medal for freestyle relay team and I bronze medal for butterfly relay team, all for 25 metre 8-9 years old category.

BBS students participated in the ASMO THAI 2020 (Asian Science and Mathematics Olympiad) on 18th October 2020. The competitions included English, Mathematics and Science. These contests will help determine levels of capabilities and skills of student academic performance.


BBS Open House 2020
17 October 2020

The school hosted an Open House for existing parents of all level grades on Saturday, 17th October 2020. This parent-teacher conference is always organized after the release of each midterm examination results. The purposes of the event are for parents to meet with class advisers and subject teachers from both English and Thai departments and to discuss the progress of their child's performance.

BBS student joins the Magic Tricks Performance at Thailand Cultural Centre

Nichaba 'Nicha' Sriyapai, Grade 4/3 was selected to join the magician troupe to perform magic tricks at the opening of the recent Thai Cultural Exposition. The event was held at Thailand Cultural Centre on 15th September 2020, presided over by. Mr. Ittipol Khunpluem, Minister of Culture. Seen in the picture is Nicha with Mr. Ittipol and executives from the Ministry of Culture.



BBS receives recognition for Grade 6 'O-NET' results for Academic Year 2019

Bangkok Bilingual School has been awarded a certificate of recognition by the Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC) for the achievements of Grade 6 students completing the Ordinary National Education Test (O-NET) during the 2019 academic year. The OPEC award recognises schools which exceed the national average standard for all subjects.



BBS student receives award from Junior Go-Kart Training 2020

Congratulations to Napat 'Sun Son' Worawiwat, Grade 6/3 who was awarded a trophy from the recent Junior Go-Kart Training 2020, 8-11 years old held at EasyKart RCA on 11th July 2020. The event was jointly sponsored by True visions and Toyota Thailand. It aims to promote driving safety awareness and enjoyment of gokarting. Sun Son won the 4th prize.


BBS student receive consolation prize from the Second Contest (National Level) Mathematics Competition

Congratulations to Voranitta "Tonliew" Rattanasritapong (G6/2) who was awarded a consolation prize from the Mathematics Competition. This contest was the second round (national level) of the international academic subjects competition held by the Bangkok Primary Educational Service Area Office, Office of the Basic Education Commission. The event which was part of the development of learning quality of Thai students for international standards project contest was held on the 24th March 2020.

BBS student receive gold prize from Mathematics Competition
4 February 2020

Congratulations to Winthai 'Otto' Ananplachai, G3/3 who won medals from International Robot Olympiad 2019 Competitions held at Chiang Mai University between 16th and 20th December 2019. There were about 400 participating teams from 14 countries Otto received 2 medals.

BBS student receives medals from swimming competitions
18 December 2019

Congratulations to Tanapat "Taiyo" Yano (G2/2) who won 2 medals from the "I Love DAD 2019" Swimming Match held on 15th December 2019, at the Sport Centre of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defense.

Taiyo was in Shark Spirit Team and received 1 silver medal from 25 metre backstroke and 1 silver medal from 25 metre freestyle, for 8 years old boys.

Congratulations to Tejit 'Song' Boriboonpoka, G1/4 who received prizes from various piano competitions.

1. Singapore Asia Youth PIANO Competition 2019. Song was awarded a gold medal from the final competition in the children category under 6. The event took place at Bechstein Music World, Singapore on 10th August 2019. He is qualified to participate in Japan Piara Piano Competition 2020 which is the succeeding in-house contest.

2. The 6th Macao Asia Pacific Youth Piano Competition held at the University of Macau, Macau, Republic of China on 12th August 2019. Song received the First Honour award in final competition for Children Class A under 6. He was among the top 10 from 70 competitors.

3. The 1st Bangkok Classical Music Festival held at Performing Arts Centre, Brighton College, Bangkok on 20th July 2019. Song received a silver prize for Children Class A under 8.

4. The 20th Osaka International Music Competition held in Osaka on 2nd August 2019. He received a gold prize on preliminary level, Infant C Course (Free Program). Song will participate in the final round in Osaka on 6th October 2019.

Congratulations to students who received prizes from the 16th 'Crown Jewel' Petch Yod Mongkut (International Test of Chinese) Competition, Basic Education Level for the Academic Year 2019 for Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Trophy and scholarships from Phra Phrom Mangkalajarn. The contests were held on Sunday 18th August 2019 at Dhurakij Pundit University. There were 4 representatives from BBS for upper primary level (Grades 4-6) competition including:

Congratulations to Teerakarn "Cotton" Kaewma (K.3/2) who participated in Australian Teachers of Dancing, ATOD 2019 International Dance Competition, held at Aksra Theatre, King Power Bangkok between 31st January and 3rd February 2019. Cotton received 2 gold medals for Syllabus HipHop Level 2 Solo and Syllabus HipHop Level 2 Duo.

Congratulations to Pimrawin 'Pim' Chavananikul G4/1, Kannatcha 'Je t'ime' Watcharaudompanya G4/1 and Rinrada 'Aimmy' Lertsukhumvanich G5/2 who received the Award of Excellence from The New Generation Charity Showcase. This charity concert was held by Mozarz Academy on the 3rd August, 2019 at Buddhavijjalaya College, Phranakhon Rajabhat University to raise fund for Wat Prabat Nam Phu in Lopburi Province.

BBS student receives medal from 19th Smart Brain International Championship

Congratulations to Clive Alphan (G2/3) who participated in the 19th Smart Brain Championship Thailand and International Competition, held at Pattaya Indoor Sports Stadium, Eastern National Sport Training Centre, Chonburi on the 28th July 2019. Clive was awarded a silver medal for mental arithmetic aptitude competition, Level 3 age under 9, Group A. There were 1,500 contestants from 15 countries.

Congratulations to Arthur Layton Eddy (G5/1) and Andrew George Eddy (G3/3) who won awards from youth ice hockey tournaments.

Arthur Layton participated in the Tropical Freeze Tournament 2019 with Grizzly Bears Team for U10, held at The Rink Rama 9 between 10th and 13th July 2019. Arthur was Defenseman. He was awarded the MVP (Most Valuable Player).

Andrew Geroge played for the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand in Nonthaburi Youth Ice Hockey Tournament 2019 for U8 Team, held at Subzero Ice Skate, Espanade Kaerai on 30th June 2019. Andrew was Goalie and received the following awards:

1. Silver medal (his team won the second place)
2. MVP (Most Valuable Player) medal of the game
3. MVP (Most Valuable Player) trophy of the tournament
4. Best Goalie of the tournament



BBS student receives gold medal from Gufba Kids Racing Championship 2019 Round 2

Congratulations to Kirati 'Siam' Wong-In, Kindergarten 3/3 who received a gold medal and a trophy from Gufba Kids Racing Championship 2019 #2 held at Bira Kart Circuit Pattaya on 30th June 2019. Siam was ranked 4th place for Gufba Mini Moto Rookie U7.

Congratulations to Arthur Layton Eddy (G5/1) and Andrew George Eddy (G3/3) who received medals from different youth ice hockey tournaments.

1. Youth Ice Hockey (BCISB League), held at The Rink Rama 9 between 22nd September 2018 and 25th May 2019
Arthur and Andrew played for Young Ducks Junior U10 Team. Arthur was Defenseman and Andrew was Goalie. Young Ducks Junior U10 won the second place.

2. Youth Ice Hockey (Fashion Island League), held at Fashion Island Shopping Mall between 27th January and 10th March 2019
Arthur was captain and Defenseman of Young Ducks Junior U9. He was awarded the MVP (Most Valuable Player) and the team won the third place.
Andrew was the Goalie of Young Ducks Junior U7 and U9. He received MVP medal and Best Goalie for Young Ducks Junior U7.
Young Ducks Junior U7 was the champion and received a trophy, while Team U9 won the third place.

3. BANGKOK FLY Tournament 2019, held at The Rink Rama 9 between 27th May and 1st June 2019
Arthur was captain of Young Ducks Junior U10. His position was Forwards. He received the MVP medal.
Andrew played for Young Ducks Junior U8 and U10. He was the Goalie for both teams. Andrew won the MVP and the Best Goalie trophy for U8. Team U8 was the champion and won a trophy.

Congratulations to Tanutkarn "Nu Nutt" Sae-Kam (G4/1) who participated in the 7th Gymnastics and Fitness Competition held at Chinagmai 700 Year Stadium, Chiangmai Province on the 9th February 2019. Nu Nutt received 1 gold medal for Gymnastics rope skills and 1 consolation medal for body skills.

Congratulations to Nichaba 'Nicha' Sriyapai, Grade 3/3 who won the Junior Magic Championship from World Magic Extravaganza (Malaysia) 2019, held at Genting Highlands, Malaysia from 31st May to 2nd June 2019. Nicha was awarded a trophy and MYR 400. She also received Merlin Award, a special gold medal from International Magicians Society, New York, U.S.A.

Congratulations to Jinnapada "Nut" Prasurtworakul (G6/2) who was recently awarded prizes from two singing contests.

Two plaques for Outstanding Singer, 4th and 5th ranking from The Bazaar Ratchada Singing Contest 2019 held at Suan Lum Night Bazaar on 27th April 2019.

Nu Nutt also received the first prize and 2,000 Baht from Harborland Kids O-Ke 2019 contest, age under 15 years old, held at Harborland Pattaya on 28th April 2019.

Congratulations to Tanutkarn "Nu Nutt" Sae-Kam (G3/1) who was recently awarded a crown and sash by Bangkok Governor Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, and the Director of Culture Sports and Tourism Department, after being selected as one of twelve young ambassadors to represent Bangkok as part of the "Discover Thainess" tourism initiative. Nu Nutt's role will be to promote and publicize interesting tourist attractions in Bangkok, with the recommended places being published in Summer Kids Magazine.

BBS holds first-ever school fair
12 February 2018

The school fair was held on Friday, 9 February 2018. Parents from kindergarten and primary levels were invited to come and join the festivities, from 7 AM to 1 PM. The students enjoyed going through 4 game booths (Master Mind, Catch That Phrase, It Takes Two To Tangram, Minute To Win It) and 7 exhibition booths (Thai Language, Mardi Gras, Make It Then Take It, Mathematics, Science, Whiz Quiz, Technology), where they earned stickers and instant prizes. The programme that followed presented a special dance number, the final BBS Got Talent contestants, and awarding of BBS Got Talent grand champion and BBS Students of the Year. The fair grounds also offered various meals, snacks and refreshments for everybody.

BBS opens new campus for Primary students
7 May 2017

We are pleased to inform you that the school will open the new campus, which is located opposite the present campus, on the same ground as the Nathong Restaurant. Primary students will be relocated to the new site from Semester 1/2017. The new, wider range of facilities has been established to provide an enhanced learning experience for students, which will include a six-storey building with 27 classrooms. In addition, there is also a multi-purpose hall for sporting and recreational activities, modern computer and audiovisual rooms, a swimming pool and a football field. The new premises will accommodate Secondary and High School Levels in the future.

Congratulations to Thamol (Praew) Manorotkul (G4/1) who joined the summer cultural trip to play concerts in Italy and Slovenia with Nat Studio, Piano Institute from April 3 to 26, 2016. In this trip, Praew and her friends not only had a chance to study with Italian pianists and attend concerts or recitals by world renown artists, they also performed concerts at different places including Koper in Slovenia , Bologna, Florence and Scanzano in Italy. Praew performed Etude Op.100 No.25 "la Chevaleresque" of Burgmuller.

Congratulations to Pavara (Proud) Likasittipong (G6/1) who joined the Panthers Team for the Asia Cheerleading Invitational Championships 2016, Team Cheer Freestyle Pom Primary School Division. The competition was held on April 3, 2016 in Singapore. The Panthers was champion for 3 events, Pom Pom Cheer, Cheer all Girls for Primary School and Junior Level 2, and Group Stunt B. They also received second prize for Group Stunt A.

Congratulations to Ratanaporn "Pure" Jeeradith (G6/2) who won medals and a trophy from the 2nd Kampaengsaen Campus, Kasetsart University Anniversary Swimming Championship, held at Kampaengsaen Campus on January 7, 2016. Pure earned 1 gold medal for 50 metre butterfly, 1 silver medal for 50 metre breaststroke and 1 bronze medal for 50 metre freestyle, 12 year old girl category. Pure also received a trophy for the third rank for outstanding swimmers.

Pare earned 4 gold medals while Raina and Fairy each received 3 gold and 1 silver medals for 3-5 year level.

Congratulations to Ratanaporn "Pure" Jeeradith (G5/2) who won 2 medals from the 37th Anniversary Chulabhorn Walailak Swimming Pool Final. The competition was held at Chulabhorn Walailak Swimming Pool, Kasetsart University on November 14, 2015. Pure earned 1 silver medal for freestyle relay team and 1 bronze medal for 100 metre breaststroke, 11 year old girl category.

Congratulations to students for their achievements in winning prizes in Yamaha Thailand Music Festival 2016, held by Yamaha Music School on October 31, 2015.

Chin Chanintaku (G1/3) received Yamaha Golden Prize for Junior Piano Solo, 7 year old category.

Parattakon (Peeta) Charaslertsuwan (G1/2) and Tiyapol (Audi) Kongmonkol (G1/3) performed piano duet. They received Yamaha Bronze Prize for Piano Duet Category A, 8 year old category.

Yanin (Reichang) Chantratin (G2/1) was a singer of SM1 Band. She sang The Show. SM1 was awarded Yamaha Silver Prize, 15 year old category for Band Challenge Band Challenge, 15 year old category.

Congratulations to Napatch (CJ) Leenasen (G3/2) and Thass (MJ) Leenasen (G5/2) for their achievement in Pre-Gifted & EP'58 nationwide test for primary level students organized by Bunditnaenaew on November 19, 2015.

CJ was placed 1st in the Huai Kwang district in Mathematics, English and total scores for Grade 3 level.

MJ was placed 1st in the Huai Kwang district in Science, English and total scores for Grade 5 level.

BBS student receives prize in piano competition
7 September 2015

Congratulations to Amarin "Tao" Wexler (G6/1) for receiving First Prize at the 2015 Hong Kong Music Competition for Young Pianists, organized by Hong Kong Performing Community of Arts, held from 14 to 20 July 2015 in Hong Kong. Tao achieved First Prize in Sonatina and AIAPF Elementary Classes. He was awarded 2 trophies and Hong Kong Dollars 3,500.

Pure earned 5 medals at the SWIMFANCLUB EXTRA MIND competition held at the Sports Centre of the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence (Bangchak Sports Centre) on August 9, 2015. She has also received 5 medals at the SAT SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP 2ND 2015 Swimming Competition, held at the swimming pool of the Sports Authority of Thailand on August 23, 2015.

Phawatt Thongbooncharoen (Tawan), G3 won a second runner-up prize for 'Boys Singles 8 category' at the recent Krasae Tennis Camp Junior Challenge 2015, held on 15 -16 August 2015, by the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand.

Anirut Hitakaroon (Alex), G6 received a bronze medal for the second runner-up, Boys' Singles 12 & up at the 2015 Chang- Lawn Tennis Development, Northern Region 7th tournament held on the 22nd - 23rd August 2015. This tournament was organized by the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand.

The award recognizes schools and other establishments with excellent results on cleanliness and environmental attentiveness. It was given to the school by the Environment and Sanitation Department, Huai Kwang District on July 6, 2015.

BBS launches "Speak Up" Programme 2015
18 May 2015

The "Speak Up" Level programme, initiated by the school Vice President, Miss Ratana Wasinrapee, has been introduced since the school year 2013 to encourage students to speak English in and out of the classroom. Each student is given a stamp booklet for the teachers to put stickers on every time they speak English with their peers. Students are also encouraged to converse with teachers outside the classroom.

The "Speak Up" Level 1 contains a total of 70 slots. Every set of stickers collected has a corresponding prize:

10 stamps = prize worth 100 baht
25 stamps = prize worth 150 baht
45 stamps = English dictionary or book worth 200 baht
70 stamps = prize worth 250 baht, "Speak Up" gold medal and certificate

Upon completing the 70 stamps, the student will be accelerated to "Speak Up" Level 2 which has a higher level of difficulty, with different set of prizes, namely:

10 stamps = prize worth 200 baht
25 stamps = prize worth 300 baht
45 stamps = English book worth 400 baht
70 stamps = prize worth 500 baht, "Speak Up" trophy and certificate

The "Speak Up" Kindergarten for K3 students starts on June 2, 2015. Instead of stamp booklet, a monitoring board will be posted in each classroom where English teachers paste a sticker every time students speak English. The students who received the highest number of stickers will be awarded as "Speak Up" Winners. Awarding of winners will be announced each month.

Please support your children in this programme by encouraging them to speak in English at home and by reminding them to bring the "Speak Up" booklet to school everyday. Thank you!

BBS student chosen to be ball boy at World Tennis Championship 2015

Phakin "Bhumi" Krachangthong, G5/1, was selected among a few Thai youth tennis champions to be a ball boy at the recent World Tennis Championship 2015, held at Hua Hin in December 2014. It was a good experience for Bhumi to observe closely the technique of many world tennis champions. Bhumi was honoured to take photograph with Mr. Suwat Liptapanlop, President of the Lawn Tennis Association and member of the Board of the International Tennis Federation Committee.

Congratulations to Ratanaporn "Pure" Jeeradith, G.4/2 who won altogether 16 medals from different events. Pure earned 5 medals at the New Star Championship Extra Mind held at Yamjardwitchanusorn School on July 27, 2014.

Pure has also received 11 medals at the "80th Anniversary of Thammasat University" Swimming Competition, held at Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus from December 5-7, 2014.

After 1 semester and 2 weeks, 4 students completed the "Speak Up" Level 1 programme (blue card), earning all 70 stickers:

BBS launches "Speak Up" Programme 2014

The "Speak Up" Level 1 programme, created by the school Vice President, Miss Ratana Wasinrapee, has been introduced this term to encourage students to speak English in and out of the classroom. Students are also encouraged to converse with teachers outside the classroom.

The stamp card contains a total of 70 slots. Every set of stickers collected has a corresponding prize:

10 stamps = prize worth 100 baht
25 stamps = prize worth 150 baht
45 stamps = English dictionary or book worth 200 baht
70 stamps = prize worth 250 baht, "Speak Up" gold medal and certificate

The Primary "Speak Up" Level 1 programme officially started on 13 August 2014. A total of 314 card holders have already been registered from Grades 1 to 6. As of 21 August 2014, 6 students have earned 10 stamps and have received prizes worth 100 baht.

The Kindergarten "Speak Up" Level 1 programme will start on Monday, 1 September 2014. Instead of cards, they will have a monitoring board inside the classroom. A total of 175 K2 and K3 students will participate.

Upon completing the 70 stamps, the student will be accelerated to "Speak Up" Level 2 programme which has a higher level of difficulty (i.e. longer conversations with selected ESL teachers, story-telling, impromptu-speaking, etc.), with different set of prizes, namely:

BBS student tops English test in the Matthayom 1 Pre-Test of Patumwan Demonstration School, Srinakharinwirot University

Congratulations to Arisa "Magic" Sittichokkananon, G6 student who received the top score in English in the Pre-Test of Patumwan Demonstration School, Srinakharinwirot University for Mattayom 1 Admission, School Year 2014. Magic's English score is 96/100. She was awarded with a plaque and 5,000 Baht by the school. Magic also successfully passed the entrance examinations to study in Matthayom 1 of Patumwan Demonstration School (EP), Prasanmit Demonstration School and Samsen Wittayalai School (EP). Magic chose to study at Patumwan Demonstration School.

   

BBS organizes first guidance programme

The school arranged a guidance programme for Grade 5 and 6 students on February 10, 2014. Guest speakers included a parent and BBS alumni from the 1st batch of graduates. They spoke about preparation for secondary and tertiary education. The special guests include:

BBS Karate-Do students earn belt ranking
12 February 2014

Selected Karate-Do students took their first ranking qualification examinations on Saturday, 8th February 2014. The school was honoured by Sensei Fujikiyo Omura, the chief instructor at Thai-Japan Shotokan Karate Association (Thailand), who came personally to test our students at BBS. Master Fujikiyo Omura, 7th degree black belt, is Karate-Do JKA instructor worldwide and presently coach for Karate-Do teams of Chulalongkorn University and Kasertsart University. Students who got a yellow belts ranking include: Nathan Phanruttinont (G2); Lit Ho 'Tony' Pun (G3); and, Yuthachak 'Poom' Praiklang (G5).

We are pleased to inform you that the school has been officially assessed by the Office of the Private Commission on Friday, 24 January 2014. The school received outstanding marks -- 99/100 for Kindergarten Level and 99.5/100 for Primary Level. The assessment was based on academic standard, school administration and information, and continuous education quality development plan. Congratulations to Amarin "Tao" Wexler (G4/1) for receiving a Special Mention Prize (Category 1) in the 3rd Trinity College London National Youth Piano Competition Thailand 2013 from adjudicators, Mr. Jeffrey Williams and Ms. Lindsey Butterfield. The competition was held from 12-20 October 2013 at BACC, Bangkok. He was trained by his piano teacher, Ms. Irina Novikova.

Jedhapat Srirawewongsa (Jade), K3, was the champion of boys' singles 6 & up at the LTAT - Topspin Tennis 10S Circuit 2013/1, at the National Tennis Development Center, Muangthong Thani, on 1st September, 2013. Jade also received a medal for the second runner-up, boys' singles 8 & up at the 2013 Chang- Lawn Tennis Development, North Eastern Region, held at the Golden Jubilee Sports Center, Nakornratchasima on 24th - 26th August 2013. Both tournaments were organized by the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand under His Majesty's Patronage.

Muntarat (Khim) Amnuaypanich, G1, received a medal for the runner-up, girls' singles 8 & under at the 2013 PTT Junior Championships, Northern Region, held at the Institute of Physical Education Lampang, on 10th -13th August 2013.

Peeranat (AJ) Srirawewongsa, G3, received a medal for the runner-up, boys' singles 8 & up at the 2013 PTT Junior Championships, North Eastern Region, held at the Demonstration School of Khonkaen University, on 22nd - 24th June 2013.

       

       


BBS student is lead actress in educational TV series
31 July 2013

Kronghathai "Guide" Theanthai was selected to take a lead role in an educational TV series entitled "Rainbow Window". The series is made up of 13 episodes and will be aired every Saturday at 6pm (18.00 hours) on Thai PBS (channel 6), starting August 3, 2013.

Guide was selected to join these episodes together with professional actors, including Sai Charoenpura, Petch Karoonpon Theansuwan, Ornanong Panyawong, Rong Khaomoonkadi and Panadda Komaratad. "Rainbow Window" tackles issues regarding self-sufficiency economy, educating children not to be materialistic. [ Watch the official trailer here! ]

       

       


BBS students "Speak Up"
26 July 2013

The "Speak Up" programme has been introduced this term to encourage students to speak English in and out of the classroom. Each participating student is given a stamp card for the assigned teachers to put stickers on every time they speak English with their peers. Students are also encouraged to converse with teachers outside the classroom.

The stamp card contains a total of 70 slots. Every set of stickers collected has a corresponding prize:

10 stamps = 20 baht coupon
25 stamps = 50 baht coupon
45 stamps = English dictionary or book
70 stamps = "Speak Up" gold medal and certificate

The programme officially started on the 1st of July, 2013, with just 60 student volunteers. As of 25th of July, a total of 118 card holders have already been registered.

After just two weeks, 8 students have already been rewarded 20 baht coupons. The first to complete 10 stamps was Debbie (G6), who was rewarded a 50 baht coupon. Here is the first batch of students to complete the 10 stamps:

The Office of the Private Education Commission awarded medals to schools which successfully passed the Ordinary National Education Test (O-NET) of the school year 2011 on the 1st May 2013 at Riverside Bangkok Hotel. BBS G6 level was awarded a silver medal with average result more than 50 percent for the 5 core subjects. Congratulations!

Two BBS students won the English contest in Good Afternoon, which was aired on the 28th of February, 2012 on Thai PBS. Jutiporn "Atom" Arthan (G6) and Arisa "Magic" Sittichokkananon (G4) received the top prize THB for earning the highest points. Contestants should be capable of spelling, writing, listening, speaking, reading, writing and defining English words. G5 student got artistic talent!

Congratulations to Thichakorn 'Nicha' Jarupramoth (G5) who won top and special prizes in 2 drawing competitions. Nicha received the first prize in primary level, with the theme 'Gratefulness Saves Our World' to celebrate the 105th and 100th Anniversary of birth of the 2 Venerable Monks, Buddhadassa Bhikku and Panyanantha Bhikkhu.

Nicha was also awarded a special prize in drawing orchids from the '4th Orchids Bring Good Things to Life' Competition at the 5th Siam Paragon Bangkok Orchid Paradise during the celebration of the 84th Anniversary of H.M. the King.

Nicha was recently awarded a consolation prize from the Fishery Department for drawing a picture with the theme "The King and Thailand Fishery".

Congratulations to Nawanont (Fei) Pathomsiri of G6 class who got the top score in English Language in the Mattayom 1 Pre-Test organized by Debsirin School. He will be awarded a trophy and 5,000 THB from the President of Debsirin Alumni Association. Fei was also ranked no. 2 in English Language in the Mattayom 1 Pre-Test of Srinakarinwirot Univeristy, Prasanmit Demonstration School. There were approximately 1,575 students who took the test.

BBS students meet Thai Prime Minister

Dhamachad "Wonder" Dhanawuthiworn (G1/2) and Piyachad "Winner" Dhanawuthiworn (G4/2) were among the 10 children selected by the National Broadcasting of Thailand, Thai Health Promotion Foundation and Family Network Foundation to meet with the Thai Prime Minister on Tuesday, 21st of December, 2010 to promote praying on New Year's Eve.

           

               
Grade 6 students receive gold medal in the 2009 O-NET

Grade 6 students of Academic Year 2009 took the Ordinary National Education Test (O-NET) on February 2-3, 2010 and were awarded a gold medal. They also attained the top score in English and Social Studies among 142 schools in the Bangkok Educational Service Area 2.


Moreover, Grades 2 and 5 took the Local Assessment System (LAS) on March 2-3, 2010. Grade 2 attained top scores in Engligh, Mathematics, Science and Health and Physical Education, and ranked no. 3 in Thai Language and Social Studies among 118 schools in Bangkok Educational Service Area 2. Grade 5 ranked no. 2 in English and no. 3 in Mathematics.

Grade 3 took the National Test (NT) on February 24-25, 2010 and ranked no. 3 in Science.
BBS Sticker Sheet Awardees 2010

BBS congratulates Arkorn "Ton" Jarunrat (G1/1) and Nuttaya "View" Techapermphol (G4) for being the first to fill the sticker sheets this academic year.


The sticker system, which started in academic year 2009, monitors student participation and use of English in class. If students participate enthusiastically and use English in classes, they will receive stickers which they should keep on their sticker sheet. When their sticker sheet is full, they will receive a certificate to recognize their hard work in class.
BBS ranks no. 1 in Bangkok Educational Service Area 2

BBS was ranked 1st among 104 schools in Bangkok Educational Service Area 2 in the 2008 Government National Test.

Grades 2 and 5 students took the Local Assessment System National Test arranged by the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education in February 2009. BBS students also attained top scores in 5 subjects namely, Thai Language, English, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science.

Grade 3 also ranked 1st at the National Test (NT) and attained the top score in Mathematics.

Grade 6 was awarded a silver medal for the O-NET results and also attained the top score in Mathematics.
